divine mercy 33 day of morning gloryFrom the Pastor’s Desk

Many of you know that May is the traditional month in the Roman Catholic Church that is devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary. As the calendar turns to May, I want to remind you of the special celebration we have planned for Saturday, May 13 at 12:00 noon to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Mary’s Apparitions at Fatima. If you are one of those who have been working on the Marian Consecration for that day by contemplating the reflections in 33 Days to Morning Glory, I hope that you will be able to attend this celebration so that you can make your Consecration to Mary a public act. (A reminder that if you are doing the consecration AND will be at the May 13th event at 12:00 noon, please let us know by sending an email to cathparish@gmail.com.)As usual in these weeks after Easter, there’s a lot going on. We celebrate the conferral of the Sacrament of Confirmation at the Sunday evening, 5:00 p.m. Mass. Please remember our confirmandi in your prayers. Also, next weekend we will celebrate the reception of First Holy Communion for our children who have prepared for this at the Saturday evening, 5:00 p.m. Mass and the Sunday, 9:00 a.m. Mass. Again, please remember these children and their families in your prayers.

Finally, even though it’s not until June 17, remember in your prayers Briggs Hurley and Wilson Colmenares as they make their final preparations for ordination to the priesthood.

Love,
Father Tom
