Our patron, Saint Augustine of Hippo, once preached about these most sacred of days:
The Paschal Mystery includes both the Passion and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the two being inseparable. Not only is the Resurrection inseparably connected with the Passion, but it also springs from the Passion as it were: life springs from death….
In this holiest of all weeks in Christendom, I pray that you will set aside good and sacred time to celebrate Christ’s Paschal Mystery by which we have been redeemed. Come and celebrate in its fullness the new life – the eternal life – God has given us in all its wonder.
