From our Pastor

My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
I’d like to give you an update on my health and
recovery process. On Monday, August 29th, I
had a triple bypass surgery at Mayo Clinic. I
had a top-notch surgeon and a great team of medical professionals. The surgery went very well and I’ve been recovering
ahead of schedule, thanks be to God and all your prayers.
It’s a life changing event to have your heart worked on, indeed a spiritual experience. We speak so often of the heart as
more than just a bodily organ. I feel like God has given me a
new heart spiritually in addition to my improved physical
organ. Life has a new zest and all I can think about is how
grateful I am to God for every blessing He has given and will
continue to bestow.
Again, I want to thank you all for your prayers and support, it
has meant a great deal to me. I received a huge spiritual bouquet and many cards from our children at CPS. How heartwarming to accept so much love! All the love I have received
from my family and friends has even inspired some on my
medical team to desire to come back to the faith.
As many of you are already aware, our parish has received a
new priest, Fr. Ignatius Yeruva. He has been a great help so
far, and I hope we will welcome him warmly. I will not be able
to celebrate public Mass for several weeks, but please know
that I’m working hard for the day when I am cleared by the
doctor to go about my daily ministry again. Until then, we
remain united in the Eucharist. May God continue to bless
each of you in abundance.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. John Tetlow
