From the Desk of Fr. Matthew Ibok

We have come to the end of January 2022 this week. This reminds us that the “Honeymoon”
for 2022 is over; no more vacation; no more work free days; no more unnecessary leisure either
with friends or family members. We are now back to the daily routine at our jobs and other
responsibilities to make 2022 more enjoyable and rewarding than the past two years have been
since the pandemic interrupted all aspects of our life.

We cannot help but acknowledge that the pandemic is still very much around and
devastating, as ever; sending many of our loved ones to hospitals or their early graves. May they
rest in peace! No one, including the experts, has absolute knowledge nor understanding of what is
really going on with the virus. With all the good intentions and information concerning the virus by
appropriate authorities, many of us are still confused.

Nevertheless, we thank all the people including the scientists, medical professionals,
governments, etc. who have worked tirelessly to assist in controlling and, by God’s grace,
overcoming the virus and returning to normal life in the nearest future.
We are grateful to God for all His blessings as we welcome the month of February 2022. We
promise to identify with Him when He will be presented at the Temple on February 2nd, as well as
respect Him- unlike some of the people in the Temple this week.
