First Friday and First Saturday Devotions
Friday, November 4th is the First Friday of the month. First Friday Mass
will be celebrated at 7 a.m. in the Cathedral. The Litany of the Sacred Heart
will be prayed following Mass. Our Lord requested that we pray Nine
Consecutive First Fridays in reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus!
There are many blessings and graces that Jesus promised for those who complete this devotion.
Saturday, November 5th is the First Saturday of the month. The Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary
will be prayed following the 7 a.m. Mass. Confessions will be heard following the praying of the
Litany. Our Lady of Fatima requested Five Consecutive First Saturdays in reparation to her
Immaculate Heart!
1) Confession (shortly before or after the First Saturday — so long as the person
receives Holy Communion in a state of grace);
2) Holy Communion received on the First Saturday of each month;
3) The Holy Rosary, five decades recited sometime during the day;
4) Meditating for 15 minutes on the Mysteries of the Rosary (one or more).
