From the Pastor’s Desk

Today’s bulletin includes the parish’s Financial Report for the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 that concluded on June 30. The pie charts are a quick way to see the major areas that summarize income and expenses. A more detailed report is also included. If you have any questions, please contact me, our Parish Manager, John Garofalo, or the Chair of the Cathedral Finance Council, Rich LaVista.

Our Finance Council is made up of parishioners who are a great resource to me in the responsibility Holy Mother Church gives me to manage the temporal realities of our parish. Unlike most American parishes, the properties we have oversight of are vast and widespread: the Cathedral and the Rectory; Cathedral Parish School, the Bishop Baker Parish Center and Lyceum; Saint Benedict the Moor Church and Rectory; Tolomato Cemetery; and Cathedral Parish Early Education Center and Bosco House. All of these properties demand regular care and maintenance. Not all of the properties produce income, thus, requiring us to become “creative” in finding revenue sources.

Your commitment to the Cathedral Parish and regular contributions to the Offertory are necessary as well as very much appreciated. Using Faith Direct is a good way to ensure your contributions make it to the parish even when you will be away. You can also help in providing for the future by generously remembering the Cathedral Parish in your will. May God bless you for your generosity.

Love,

Father Tom
