From the Pastor’s Desk

In these final days of Advent and the Christmas celebrations so near, everyone, it seems to me, is in need of
the Joy of our Savior’s Nativity. Whether you are able to attend Mass in person or decide to do so virtually via our
livestream service on Facebook, it is my hope that you will sense the joy and happiness, the peace and love that
only Christ can bring to our hearts.
This year has been one of great challenge. But as Pope Francis said at his Angelus Address on December 6,
“No pandemic can turn off the Light of Christmas!” The “Light” our Holy Father is referring to is Christ, the Light of
the world. He came into our world to scatter all darkness and doubt, all sin and insincerity. Therefore, however and
wherever we celebrate the days of Christ’s Nativity, it’s important that we ask that His Light be rekindled in our
hearts, our souls, our lives.
In these days, know that you and all the families of the Cathedral Parish will be in my prayers that the
blessings of that first Christmas will bring new grace to all of you.
Merry Christmas to all!

Love,
Fr. Tom
