St. Augustine of Hippo’s Feast Day is celebrated each year on August 28th. Our Parish joyfully celebrates this with our annual Augustinian Address evening and reception.
The Augustinian Address, first held in 2000, honors the feast day of St. Augustine who is patron saint of the Cathedral Parish, the City of St. Augustine, and the Catholic diocese in Northeast Florida.
This year, the celebration will include Evening Prayer, Vespers, with Bishop Pohlmeier in the Cathedral on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
About our 2026 Augustinian Address Speaker:
Dr. Klein specializes in patristic theology, particularly the writings of St. Augustine. She completed her PhD from the University of Notre Dame in 2016, and after holding a postdoctoral position at Notre Dame, she came to teach at the Augustine Institute in 2017. She is the author of Augustine’s Theology of Angels (Cambridge University Press, 2018), God: What Every Catholic Should Know (Ignatius Press; Augustine Institute, 2019), and most recently Angels & Saints: Who They Are and Why They Matter, Engaging Catholicism Series (University of Notre Dame, 2023). She has also contributed to the nonacademic theological work of the Augustine Institute, including appearances on FORMED, Augustine Institute Bible Conferences, and Augustine STUDIOS productions.
The night will wrap up with a festive reception at 7:30 p.m. in the Cathedral courtyard.
